Akkineni was born in a small village named Venkata
Raghava Puram. Though he attained a great place in Film industry and was
noticed through out India, he never forgot his native, He organised
many medical camps and also provided employment for the people of
Raghava puram.
He received many prestigious awards like Dada saheb
Phalke award , four filmfare awards,2 AP state awards and one tamilnadu,
one Madhyapradesh state award.He was also a cultural ambassador for
India and was invited for many countries. He a writer too, and written
few books like Nenu Na Jeevitham, Nenu Chusina America, Manasuloni
Mata.He was the main person who took initiative to shift the base of
Telugu film industry from Madras(Chennai) to Hyderabad.. For that he
also established Annapurna Studios after his wife’s name.
Last year he became sick and hospitalized for few
days, on Oct 19, 2013 he held a press meet and announced that he was
diagnosed with intestinal cancer. He expressed his positive outlook over
the disease and said he will fight till the end.
He was debuting his last film Manam in which three
generations of his family playing characters in the film. Yesterday
night around 2:00am The legendary actor passed away with the disease he
had. He was 90 when he expired.
Many people consider ANR’s family for their good
health and hospitality they provide. Its really a great loss for Telugu
film industry to lose such a great actor. Though he left his soul from
body physically, he’ll be alive in our hearts as long as the Telugu film
industry is alive..May his soul rest in peace.
